Tashkent: India won a silver and a bronze medal in the women’s category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Uzbekistan.

In the women’s 71 kg category, Hajint Gow won 90 kg in the snatch category and 121 kg in the clean & jog category for a total weight of 211 kg and won the silver. In the same category, another Indian, Lalzanimi, bagged bronze in the snatch category with a total weight of 90 kg and a total of 209 kg in the clean & jok category with 119 kg.

With this, the number of medals won by India in this competition is 9. Earlier, India won 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 silver medals in the Ottawa category.
