Also electric: the new Opel Mocha in Israel

by time news

David Lubinski, an importer of the Opel Group’s vehicles, continues to shake up the ranks of the German brand in Israel and today (Monday) launches the Opel Mokka 2022 in Israel, both in a traditional gasoline package and in its electric version, the Mokka-e. It will be marketed in a number of different levels of equipment and at prices starting at NIS 133,000.

Unlike the previous mocha (2012) which was a rib of a technological alliance with General Motors (the landlady) and derived from a twin brother in the form of a Chevrolet Trax, the second generation introduced last year is based on the CMP floor of Stalantis Corporation (Peugeot-Citroen development) and reflects design Original and new assemblies that can be experienced as stated in all vehicles of the French brands in recent years, with genetic affiliation mainly to its counterpart, Peugeot 2008.

In size it is not significantly larger than the outgoing mocha but thanks to symbolic growth in width to 1.79 m and a wheelbase of 2.56 m, these give it good proportions to the segment and a useful interior space. The rest of the numbers are quite routine – its height has shrunk slightly to 1.54 m and its length is 4.15 m (4.2 m previously). The trunk volume is modest, not large in the segment and settles for 350 liters in normal condition (5 seats upright) and up to about 1,000 liters and a bit with full folding.

Similar to its exterior design, significant reform is also evident in the interior decor and human engineering. The new mocha, based on impressions from the GTX concept car introduced in 2019, removes from the foundations all the remnants of General Motors’ outdated decor and adopts an invested finish level, modern compounds and modern interfaces with a common technological infrastructure for the Peugeot 2008. At the basic finish level, the‘Elegance’, It is equipped with a 7-inch media system, Apple and Android interfaces, lighting and rain sensors, a 7-inch digital dashboard, climate control, industrial leather integrated fabric upholstery, 17-inch rims, six airbags and active safety systems, including automatic braking, 180 camera Degrees, lane centering, adaptive cruise control and more. Above it is a version GS-Line Increasing the touch screen to 10 inches, a 12-inch dashboard, adds English voice activation to various functions in the car, 18-inch rims and a sporty theme with exterior and interior decorations, such as a black roof and a black hood (optional option). The most senior level of finish, theUtimate, Adds to all previous specifications also leather upholstery in the doors, ceiling upholstery in light fabric, exterior chrome theme, state-of-the-art LED lighting, heated front seats and 18-inch rims in a special design.

To the mocha, manufactured at the French plant in the Poise, a 1.2-liter turbocharged 130 hp and 23.3 kg petrol engine can be attached to the 8-speed automatic transmission, based on front-wheel drive. It will accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 9.2 seconds to a top speed of 192 km / h. The average fuel consumption according to the manufacturer’s statements is about 15.5 km per liter of gasoline.

The electric version of the mocha is aided by the same infrastructure that existed in 208 or 2008, among other things. A single electric motor that produces 136 hp and 27 kg with front-wheel drive. The 50 kWh battery (45 kWh battery) provides a maximum driving range of 338 kilometers until depleted, accelerating to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 150 km / h. The maximum charging voltage is about 100 kilowatts, which means that in a fast infrastructure, the battery can be charged to 80% in a period of half an hour to forty minutes. Charging in a home box takes about 7 and a half hours.
