Alstom employees fear for the railway plant in Hennigsdorf

For the more than 2,000 employees of the former Bombardier plant in Hennigsdorf, the news sounded reassuring at first and again after the end of a long period of uncertainty. The French rail technology group Alstom, which had taken over the Berlin-based train division of the Canadian company Bombardier at the beginning of 2020, announced on Wednesday the sale of the Talent3 regional train platform to the Spanish rail company CAF. This means that nothing stands in the way of Alstom’s takeover of Bombardier. Among other things, the EU Commission made the partial sale of the Hennigsdorf plant a condition for the merger in the summer of last year.
