Actor Karthi has answered the question about acting in Thalapathy 67.
A press conference was held in Chennai last evening to celebrate the success of Sardaar. Actor Karthi, producer Laxman, director Mithran, music director GV Prakash, make-up artist Pattanam Rasheed, fighting coach Dilip Subbarayan, costume designer Praveen, art director Kathir, cinematographer George Williams and cinematographer Reuben attended the event.
Speaking at the event, music composer GV Prakash said, “First of all congratulations to Karthi. Three hits in a row, all three in different genres. Karthi sang the song in Sardaar. It took 7 hours of recording. He sang such a difficult song. It seemed very difficult to take this while telling this story. But Mithran successfully completed this.
Mithran is a task master. He would tell me what kind of music he wanted for what scene. Sometimes he recites to himself. There have even been incidents of recording an entire song and then discarding it and creating a new song. Sardar’s victory will give hope to many. Many people will pick up stories like these because stories that talk about social issues will be successful.”
Director Mithran said, “Journey is more important than destination. Like this, we knew from the beginning that the work of this film was going to be a storm. We also knew that no one working in the film could be happy working. But now Everyone says they got a new experience, which shows their sincerity and I thank them for that.
Every building in this film was challenging. The story kept evolving as it transitioned from story to screenplay. Narrowing it down, shooting it, editing it all is a challenge. The reason I was able to overcome it was because of my team.
Someone who saw this picture said that you are packing all the fluff in a mattress into a pillow. We have included so many things in the film. No matter how many times GV Prakash heard a new tune, he worked without frowning. Karti sir’s dedication surprised me. His motivation is the main reason for the development of this film. He volunteered to sing the song as if it would be right if I sing the song that this character sings in the house. Thanks to all the people behind the success of this film.”
Actor Karthi continued, “Even today, someone asked me, ‘Are you happy’ about the film becoming a hit, and I said, ‘No, relieved’. What we think is accepted as thought. The reason for this is this team. I also felt this in Ponni’s wealth. Now I feel Sardar too.
It is difficult to convince someone by telling this story. Picking up is harder than that. But they have made it with Menakedal. Playing the role of Sardaar is challenging. To express that character one must have pride in the nation.
There should also be a sense of sacrificing family for the country. I acted with this in mind. I did many looks for the film. Every time you apply make-up to your bad skin, it burns so much. But I reassure myself that many great men have experienced this hardship before us. We also worked keeping in mind that the current generation will compare a spy movie with Netflix series and films. The result has been received today,” he said.

“When I heard the story of this film, I bought a 10 liter silver can and started using it.”
