Amalraj appointed as Tambaram Police Commissioner-Dinamani

44 police officers have been transferred across Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government has appointed Amalraj as the Tambaram police commissioner.

Amalraj, who is currently the Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy, has been appointed as the Tambaram Police Commissioner by Additional Home Secretary Prabhakaran today, after DGP Ravi retired a few days ago.

Amalraj hails from Kanyakumari district. After completing his schooling in Nagercoil, he completed his degree in Trichy. Joined the IPS Division in 1996. An IPS officer, he later obtained his MBA and PhD from Kamaraj University, Madurai. He has won many medals in the sniper competition.

He operated the CCTV control room when he was commissioner in Salem and Coimbatore. Thus 40 per cent of the crimes were reduced in those cities.

The Police Museum was established in Coimbatore and Chennai on the advice of Amalraj. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has presented the President’s Medal for outstanding service.

He not only excelled in policing but also wrote and published 5 books on police management skills including success management, winners’ success steps, win if you want to win, spread your wings and learn to fight.

The Tamil Nadu government has appointed Balakrishnan as the Coimbatore police commissioner and Avinash Kumar as the Nellai police commissioner.
