Amandine Leynaud joins the management of Les Bleues before Euro 2022

The former goalkeeper has just retired.

The former goalkeeper of the French handball team Amandine Leynaud, just retired, has joined the management of Les Bleues ahead of Euro-2022, which will take place from November 4 to 20, announced the French Federation of handball (FFHandball) on Monday.

“The young retiree will intervene with the goalkeepers to pass on all her experience and skills to them”, details the FFHandball in a press release.

World champion (2017), European champion (2018) and Olympic champion in Tokyo last year, Leynaud, 36, will begin her new mission at the next gathering of Les Bleues on September 25, to prepare for two friendly matches against Germany on September 30, in Metz, and October 2, in Nancy.

For this occasion, the coach of Les Bleues Olivier Krumbholz has summoned a group of twenty players including regulars, but not the Olympic champions Allison Pineau (33 years old) and Pauline Coatanéa (29 years old).

Also worth noting is the first call-up of Nantes Neptunes player Léna Grandveau, a 19-year-old center half.
