We are once again talking about the Amara case and the mysterious lodge of Hungary. To address the issue this time is Corrado Formigli, who in the course of A clean sweep interviewed the lawyer on an exclusive basis Piero Amara, arrested in 2018 for the misdirection of the Eni investigation and some episodes of corruption.

What is the lodge Hungary? Really exists? Reached by the correspondent of Fourth Republic, Amara had declared to have every intention of giving explanations regarding this phantom power group.

Amara’s revelations
For the first time on TV, Amara is pressed by the questions of the presenter Formigli and the guests in the studio. “I start talking about the Hungarian Lodge because the Milan Public Prosecutor found a file in my computer, from 2015. It was a file addressed to a person indicated as ‘LL’, it was Luca Lotti. In this document the position of a series of magistrates or other state officials who had various kinds of needs was ‘recollected’ “, begins the lawyer.“When I decided to collaborate with justice, I thought that it was either a radical choice or it didn’t make sense.” Arrested in February 2018, Amara was challenged with two cases of corruption. “I was confined to the Regina Coeli prison for about 5 months, then I had a period of house arrest”, says the lawyer. “That was for me a moment of great personal and moral reflection, which convinced me and strengthened within me the strong, real, determined and determined conviction of collaborating with the judicial authority”he explains. “I tried to limit my testimony to the facts with respect to which I was and I am absolutely certain, which describe, in my opinion, much worse than a secret association. At least for a while it was easy for me to acquire either registrations or audio. I have recorded some of these people who are part of the Hungary association “.
What relationship does Amara have with the lodge of Hungary? Is it the leader? Amara categorically denies. The first to tell him about the secret group, according to him, was Doctor Giovanni Tinebra, Italian magistrate former head of the Caltanissetta Public Prosecutor’s Office, who died in 2017. “As part of a certain part of the judiciary, I received an invitation from Dr. Tinebra”, he declares in fact. “Tinebra honored me with his friendship, represented me and honored me to participate in a smaller group that shared ideals that at the time were represented as noble ideals”.
And this is where the Hungary lodge comes into play. “We recognized each other with three touches of the index finger on the wrist. Between us, only the first time or if there were any doubts, we recognized each other like this”, says Amara. Why the name Hungary? Is it referring to the Roman square? “I don’t even know why, it is probably linked to a cultural factor “.
There are therefore some registrations made by the lawyer concerning the subjects belonging to the Hungary lodge. Paolo Storari, the Milan prosecutor, who delivers the minutes to Piercamillo Davigo? “Storari decided to deliver the minutes to Davigo in the first months of 2020 “, explains Amara, “when the interrogations against me were still in progress. Had a lawyer done it, he would be in jail.”
The relationship with Lotti
As for Luca Lotti, who denied any relationship with Amara, the lawyer explains: “Not only do I confirm what I said, I met Dr. Lotti several times, there was a form of communication with Dr. Lotti at the Presidency of the Council, but we must distinguish between Lotti and Renzi. With Dr. Lotti the communication system was very often mediated by Andrea Bacci, a Florentine entrepreneur. At a certain point an economic relationship was also built, when there were financing problems for the Leopolda, which helped a company, Racing Horse, which is in Switzerland and which received transfers from another company which is in Malta: one was of my interest, the other of Dr. Bacci. It is possible that we did it for charity, how can it be possible that the agreements were of a different nature “.
However, as far as Lotti is concerned, “I met him several times at the Prime Minister’s Office, in my office, with other magistrates in bars and restaurants”. For its part, Lotti sent a statement to A clean sweep: “I met Amara in an absolutely occasional circumstance, which is already known and in the presence of dozens of people, and above all I have never received files from Amara. Faced with such defamatory inventions, I reserve the right to evaluate an action of lawsuit towards the lawyer Amara “.
