Maruti Suzuki has showcased the Fronx model based on the new Baleno model at the Auto Expo 2023 event held on January 12. Also, bookings for this compact crossover model have started on the same day. At this stage, 5 thousand 500 people have made reservations to buy the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx model.
The new Fronx model will be launched in the Indian market by April. The Fronx model will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa dealerships. This is Maruti Suzuki’s second SUV / Crossover model. Apart from this, Maruti Suzuki is selling the Brezza model through its Arena dealerships.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx comes with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol Boosterjet engine and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine options. Mild hybrid technology is offered with both engines. These produce 100 hp power, 147.6 Nm and 90 hp power, 113 Nm torque respectively.
5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is offered with the turbo petrol engine, 5-speed gearbox or 5-speed AMT gearbox with the NA petrol engine. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx model is available in five variants in the Indian market – Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Cheeta and Alfa.
The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx model in the Indian market is priced at Rs. 8 lakhs budget starting with a maximum of Rs. 11 lakhs is expected to be fixed. Apart from the Brezza, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx competes with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kadjar.
