Amazon has announced that it is facing a plan to cut the jobs of hundreds of employees as part of its plan to gradually close its healthcare initiative – Amazon Care. According to official documents submitted by the company, Amazon will lay off 159 employees in the division. In addition, 236 employees in the company’s network of clinics will be laid off. Also, the layoffs are supposed to start on December 1.

Amazon makes it clear that they will help the employees in the service move to other positions in the company. On the other hand, the company still reports that they are facing an expansion of the healthcare system and they continue. As you may recall, in July, Amazon purchased the One Medical boutique clinic chain for $3.9 billion.
The layoffs come after Amazon reduced its workforce by 99,000 people to 1.52 million employees during the second quarter. The layoffs are part of the efforts to reduce costs, following a significant expansion during the Corona crisis.
As you may recall, during the last weekend, Amazon announced the purchase of the Belgian company Cloostermans, which develops technology used to operate warehouses, the terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to reports in the American media, the Belgian company will become part of the Amazon Robotics division.
