Amazon has scheduled its Prime Big Deal Days for October 6 through October 7. Ahead of the two-day event, major retailers have already slashed prices on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch gear, alongside early discounts on hardware, laptops, and displays.
Shoppers hunting for hardware upgrades ahead of the holiday shopping season do not have to wait for the official kickoff. Retailers are rolling out early price cuts across multiple categories, giving buyers an early look at discounts that often mirror what later appears during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales according to early retail coverage. Whether you are hunting for a budget-friendly all-in-one desktop, an upgraded wireless headset, or discounted console titles, the pre-sale window is active right now.
Amazon’s October Prime Day is getting closer, and the retailer’s early gaming deals are now stretching well beyond discounted PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox games. We’re also seeing price cuts on gaming monitors, headsets, mice, keyboards, and other setup upgrades ahead of the main sale on Oct. 6-7.
The best early October Prime Day deals happening now
With that in mind, we’ve expanded this guide to cover the best gaming tech alongside the console deals already worth shopping. As always, we’re sticking to products with genuine reductions against their listed or typical prices, and we’ll keep updating our picks as more early Prime Day offers go live.
Console Gaming and Starfield Discounts Lead the Software Sales
Console players have several notable price drops to sort through as the sale window approaches. Bethesda’s sci-fi role-playing game Starfield is seeing steep reductions on the PlayStation 5 following its platform expansion earlier in the year. That $20 savings marks the lowest price this version has ever seen on Amazon. This is the full base game rather than a trimmed-down edition, giving you Bethesda’s huge sci-fi RPG with deep character customization, ship building, and over 1,000 planets to explore.
Hardware bundles and refurbished systems are also moving quickly. For buyers looking for a less expensive route into Nintendo’s ecosystem, the Amazon Renewed store is offering a sub-$200 renewed Nintendo Switch. We’re already seeing decent price cuts on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox games, as well as cheaper consoles, gaming monitors, headsets, mice, keyboards, and other setup upgrades ahead of the Oct. 6-7 sale.

Peripherals, Monitors, and Headset Price Cuts
Beyond consoles, accessory discounts span audio gear, mice, and high-refresh-rate displays. The Momentum 4 used to top our list of the best noise-canceling headphones before being dethroned by the upgraded Momentum 5, and a 23% discount makes them even more appealing. Meanwhile, the Beats Studio Pro headphones have excellent sound quality, noise-canceling capabilities and advanced voice-calling performance. With a sleek design, solid sound and top-notch noise-canceling capabilities, it’s no surprise our experts have named the AirPods Pro 3 the overall best. Their excellent noise-canceling capabilities earned these Bose cans a top spot on our list of the best headphones for 2026, and the 2nd-gen AirPods Max are the latest headphones in Apple’s lineup and offer notable improvements over their predecessors.
Desktop Computer and All-in-One PC Savings
Home office upgrades and complete desktop systems are heavily discounted across multiple brands. If you can’t wait until Black Friday sales to upgrade your home office or replace your current all-in-one desktop, the Amazon October Prime Day event (also known as Prime Big Deal Days) is coming up next week, and it is a great time to snag discounts on brands like Dell, HP, and even Apple. An AIO computer gives you all the power and performance of a standard desktop in a more compact form, making it a great choice for students and home users who are short on space. There’s even a model from Lenovo built with an RTX 4050 graphics card for gaming.
I found PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox deals worth
One of our favorite AIO desktops features a 31.5-inch display, 4K resolution, and is currently priced at $1,599 (24% off) from its regular price. A solid entry level all-in-one PC for students and creative professionals built with an Intel processor is currently listed at $999 (13% off). Apple’s midrange desktop is built with the M4 processor, featuring a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, currently priced at $1,995 (5% off). A budget-friendly AIO desktop that is great for both students and home users is also available for $750 (72% off).
Compact Mini Desktops and Productivity Towers
We’re just a week out from Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, which kicks off on Oct. 6 and promises massive discounts on thousands of products, including double deals for Amazon Prime members. I’ve already found a bunch of top-rated desktops for work and play with deep price drops, including eight desktops from leading brands on sale right now. Dell has been the go-to name for all-purpose desktops for generations, hitting the sweet spot between price and performance with materials built to last. The Dell Slim is a business-ready tower with a minimal form factor, plenty of ports, and a value-focused selection of components. The Ryzen 5 150 is a solid processor with a 3.3Ghz base clock speed, and coupled with 16GB of RAM, it’s got what it takes for everyday web surfing, spreadsheets, and presentations. We also like the multi-monitor connectivity that supports up to four FHD monitors via DisplayPort 1.4 or a pair of 4K screens. Connectivity is also up to date, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth out of the box.
For another option, the Dell Pro Tower Desktop featuring an Intel Core i3-14100T CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD is available for $769.99 at Amazon, down from $1,199.00.
