The news was given through a statement from the workers’ union in conflict with the online commerce giant.
The measure began starting at 11:00 a.m. Thursday local timeafter the refusal of the company’s management to negotiate with thousands of employees, the union reported The Teamsters on their website.

This group of workers represents the truck drivers that transport goods and reproaches Amazon for not recognizing it and not negotiating with its delegates.
The union noted that some 10,000 employees joined him to demand salary increases and better working conditions on the platform.
“If their shipment is delayed over the holidays, they can complain about the company’s insatiable greed. We gave a clear deadline to sit down and negotiate. and act appropriately with our members. They ignored it,” manager Sean O. ‘Brien said in a note.
The strike movement would affect facilities in the cities of New York, Atlanta (Georgia), San Francisco (California) and Skokie (Illinois).

Local branches of the union began picketing hundreds of collection and distribution centers across the country, according to The Teamsters.
Last year Amazon had a net profit of 30 billion dollars on a turnover of 575,000 million.
