Ambassador highlights the role of combatants in colonial liberation

News from Angola – Angola’s ambassador to Cotê d’Ivoire, Domingos Pacheco, highlighted on Saturday, in that country, the dedication and sacrifice made by the combatants to achieve freedom, as well as the revolutionary feeling of the political parties that fought for liberation colonial.

According to a note sent to NA today, the diplomat presented a political-social reflection on the gains made by Angolans since the proclamation of Independence on November 11, 1975, during an event that aimed to welcome the date.

“These brave warriors forced Portuguese colonialism, trained by the dictatorship of António Salazar, to concede, under the merciless pressure of the weapons in hand of the Angolans, the just demands of the brave freedom fighters”, highlights the report.

On the occasion, employees of the Diplomatic Mission who lived through the colonial period, passed on their experiences and called on younger people to follow the example of those who did everything to ensure that today the country is under national management.

The ceremony was presided over by the Angolan ambassador to Cotê d´Ivoire, Domingos Pacheco.
