has been officially greenlit, with the series rebranded as Queen of the Damned
to align with Anne Rice’s third novel in her Vampire Chronicles
series. The renewal was unveiled during a Comic-Con Hall H panel for The Vampire Lestat,
the show’s third season, on July 24, 2026, and confirmed by multiple outlets including Hollywoodreporter, Deadline, and Variety. The new season will follow the story of Akasha, portrayed by Sheila Atim, and mark a shift in focus to the female protagonist, a departure from the series’ earlier emphasis on male characters.
Renewal and Rebranding
The decision to renew the series comes after the conclusion of The Vampire Lestat,
the third season, which rebranded to match the title of Rice’s second novel. Season four will adopt the title of the third book, Queen of the Damned,
and will be executive produced by Hannah Moscovitch, who replaces Rolin Jones as showrunner. Jones will remain an executive producer but will not be involved in the writers’ room, as confirmed by TV Insider. Moscovitch, who previously wrote the characters of Akasha and Gabriella for The Vampire Lestat,
