AMD’s Ryzen 7000 desktop processor series was announced in 2022 and included many changes, including the new Zen 4 core and the latest AM5 socket, which brought support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5.

Earlier this year, during CES 2023, the company expanded the processor series and introduced the upgraded Ryzen 7000X3D models, which will be available for sale starting this month.

The Ryzen 7000X3D processors use the 3D V-CACHE technology, first introduced by AMD in 2021 with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor in order to improve the performance of the processor by increasing the amount of its cache memory compared to the regular model on which it is based.

In the case of the new series, the following three processors can be found:

  • Ryzen 9 7950X3D – With 16 cores and 144MB cache compared to 80MB in the regular model.
  • Ryzen 9 7900X3D – With 12 cores and 140MB cache compared to 76MB in the regular model.
  • Ryzen 7 7800X3D – With 8 cores and 104MB of cache memory (there is no regular 7800X model).
