MaxSun has listed the new CPU among the supported CPUs.
While the listing refers to the Ryzen 9 9800X3D, leaked packaging confirms that this is indeed a Ryzen 7 SKU. Although it hasn’t been officially listed by any motherboard makers yet, the series has been mentioned by Gigabyte, showing a trend where embargoes are disregarded as leaks create buzz around the newly launched AMD X870 boards.
The leak from MaxSun’s AMD Ryzen AM5 CPU support list brings clarity to several details: it confirms that the 9800X3D is the only model launching in the first wave of the 3D V-Cache series. If other models like the 9950X3D and 9900X3D were debuting, they would likely have been included in the listing as well. Additionally, it confirms that the SKU has a 120W TDP, which is facetiously labeled as ‘power waste’. Furthermore, the CPU is stated to have 96MB of cache, consisting of 32MB L3 cache and 64MB 3D V-Cache, indicating no changes in cache size, which aligns with expectations.
