/ The spokesman for the US National Security Council, John Kirby, confirmed on Tuesday that the White House received positive responses regarding the readiness of Saudi Arabia and Israel to continue discussions on normalizing relations between them.

Kirby said during a press conference, “America is still working to reach a longer humanitarian truce in Gaza and release the hostages.”

Days ago, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said in an interview with the American CNN network that relations with Israel cannot be normalized without a solution to the Palestinian issue, calling for an end to the escalation in Gaza.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had previously discussed in Saudi Arabia the issue of normalization with Israel and the post-Gaza war phase.

For his part, Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed earlier that normalization with Saudi Arabia is the key to the region’s exit from war towards a new horizon.

Last Friday, American journalist and writer Thomas Friedman said in a new opinion piece in the New York Times that the US administration is preparing a new strategy to deal with the multi-front war in the region, within the framework of what he called the “Biden Doctrine,” which he hopes will be commensurate with the seriousness and complexity of the critical moment the world is experiencing.

According to Friedman, the strategy is based on three main tracks:

The first is based on adopting a tough stance against Iran, including a firm military response to its proxies in the region.

The second track is based on an unprecedented American diplomatic initiative to recognize a demilitarized Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip after the establishment of credible Palestinian institutions and security capabilities, so that the states are viable and do not in any way threaten Israel’s security.

The third track is based on a broad security alliance between the Palestinians, Israel, the United States, and Saudi Arabia, including the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
