The United States continues to dominate the World Swimming Championships in Hungary.

At the end of Sunday the 9th day of the competition, the United States topped the list with 45 medals, including 17 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze. Italy (14 – 7/3/4) and Australia (17 – 6/9/2) are in the next two places respectively.

In the men’s 50m backstroke, Justin Res and Hunter Armstrong of the United States won gold and silver, respectively, while Xavier Masiuk of Poland won bronze. In the women’s category, Lithuania’s Ruda Mayludite, Italy’s Benedetta Pilado and South Africa’s Laura van Niekerk took the top 3 spots respectively.

In the men’s 1500m freestyle, Italy’s Gregorio Paltriniri, USA’s Bobby Finke and Germany’s Florian Velbrook won medals. In the women’s 50m freestyle, Sweden’s Sarah Jostrom won gold, Poland’s Kadarsina Vasik won silver and Australia’s McHarris won bronze.
In the women’s 400m medley, Summer Syntosh of Canada, Katie Grimes of the United States and Emma Wyand won gold, silver and bronze respectively.

In the men’s 4x100m medley relay, Italy finished first, the United States second and England third. The United States, Australia and Canada won medals in the women’s category.

Italy, Japan, China and Ukraine, Italy and Spain topped the women’s team highlights in the mixed duet free in artistic swimming, respectively.
