Washington: Indian-American businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy is among the names being considered by former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump as his Vice President for the 2024 presidential elections. According to the report of Politico.com, during the Fox News Town Hall program on Tuesday, Trump was asked by the host about six possible options of his choice for the post of Vice President. Responding to this, Trump named South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Hawaii MP Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Representative Byron Donalds and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
Donald Trump did not name another Indian-American Nikki Haley who is still in the race. 38 year old Ramaswamy wanted to contest the presidential election. He was continuously trying for this, but after his poor performance in the Iowa caucus in January, he withdrew himself from the race for the Republican presidential nomination. After this he supported Donald Trump. He had said that he was withdrawing from the presidential election and giving his support to Trump.

Ramaswamy had also hinted at joining the race for Vice President.

When Fox News Town Hall event host Laura Ingraham asked Donald Trump if they were all on your list, Trump replied, “They are all on the list.” Honestly, all those guys are nice. They are all good and strong. Ramaswamy had earlier hinted at joining Trump in the vice presidential race in the event of the Republican nomination in August 2023. Now Donald Trump has also taken his name for this post.
