New York: American billionaire Thomas Lee (78), known as the pioneer of private equity investment and leveraged buyouts, has been found shot dead. The New York Post reported that he was found dead in his office in Manhattan. The reason for the suicide is not clear.
Police received a phone message from the investment firm’s Fifth Avenue Manhattan office that Thomas Lee had shot himself dead and efforts to save him had failed. A female employee was found dead on the floor of the office toilet. He had not been seen since morning. Lee’s body was found during a subsequent search by the employee. Lee Equity was founded in 2006. He was a member of the board of directors of many companies. The reason for the suicide is not clear.
