The US has sent new anti-aircraft systems, ammunition, special forces teams and FBI officials for aerial reconnaissance of hideouts, espionage and target identification
The Pentagon has deployed commandos to Israel to cooperate on the hostage front. A not exactly secret presence: it was announced at the outbreak of the conflict and now confirmed by the Undersecretary of Defense Christopher Mayer, as reported by the New York Times

Immediately after October 7, the United States reinforced the device in the allied country by sending new anti-aircraft systems, ammunition and some special forces teams and FBI officials. Elements that could help the Israelis locate the hideouts transformed by Hamas into cells. The sources exclude direct intervention, preferring to insist on the external support role of men and technology.
There are four phases: reconnaissance from the air and espionage, identification of a target, surveillance to study the surrounding area and assess the risks, the intervention which would be left to Israel which has no shortage of units trained for these missions.
The Americans have mobilized units already present in the Middle East and perhaps other teams have arrived from Germany: the Navy Seals and the Delta Force are available, protagonist of a couple of actions in the theater (including one in Libya to capture a jihadist). It is probable that there are groups in neighboring Jordan, a country with which there is close collaboration, which has an effective secret service with great knowledge of the Palestinian reality of which it is part, and which fears internal backlash. An axis consecrated first by the fight against Al-Qaeda, then against the Caliphate. In recent days the kingdom has been one of the terminals of the US airlift which transferred new anti-missile batteries. Amman has asked Washington to deploy some systems to expand the shield.
Canada has also made a quota of specialists available from the embassy in Tel Aviv. The Strip under special observation: together with the Israeli aircraft, US drones appeared, taking off from Sigonella, in Sicily. Some have been reported, with circular evolutions over the central and southern part of Gaza, traces marked on maps by aeronautical enthusiasts. An evident collection of data, insistent and targeted. In one case – revealed by a spotter – Cypriot air traffic controllers asked for identification but the pilot responded (remotely) that he was unable to do so. Other Western Special Forces are waiting in Cyprus, a real aircraft carrier. And they’re not just Americans. Germany has mobilized its military, the same thing happened with the British who have the Akrotiri base. It is possible that there are those from other countries, less visible and incognito. As expected, the concentration of friendly and enemy spies is high. The island, in case of evacuation of civilians from the war zone, is the closest logistical outpost with ports and airports.
The second feared scenario concerns emergency or terrorism situations involving diplomatic representations in a burning and unpredictable chessboard. In 2012 the Americans failed to bring aid to the consulate in Benghazi in Libya, an attack that cost the life of ambassador Chris Stevens and since then they have tried to shorten the distance from the crisis points. Meanwhile, dozens of NATO ships cross paths to the south-west and east of the Cypriot coast, while other components are active in the Gulf and the Red Sea. A continuously expanding mobilization: the USA has ordered the departure of another 300 soldiers for the exchequer, these are bomb squads and communications workers.
