The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers have had a lot of bad luck with defensive injuries so they are signing defenseman Robert “Bobby” Nardella.
The 28-year-old American, who also holds an Italian passport, has signed a contract with the St Gallen team which is valid until the end of the year. There is an option to extend this until the end of the season.
The Lakers are responding to the numerous injuries on defense by signing Nardella, who played in Sweden last season. Sweden’s Jacob Larsson is also out indefinitely with an upper body injury.
Two other regular defenders, Emil Djuse and Igor Jelovac, have previously been injured – Jelovac will be out for around four weeks and Djuse’s return is currently in doubt.
The end of the season for Biels Bärtschi
EHC Biel will have to do without Jérémie Bärtschi for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old striker will undergo shoulder surgery next week. The club announced that it is no longer possible to return to the ice this season.
