Ukraine expects to receive a total of 79 F-16s from Belgium, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands.
An international coalition (which also includes the United States and the United Kingdom) supporting the delivery of the planes and the training of Ukrainian pilots has pledged that the first fighter jets will be in the air in Ukraine by the end of July.
Oleksiy Neizpapa, the head of Ukraine’s navy, said the fighter jets would help challenge Russia’s “complete dominance” in the skies over the Black Sea.
But Western aviation experts have warned that these warplanes will not become a magic weapon for the Ukrainians to help them win the war quickly. The portal also wrote about it on Tuesday lrytas.lt.
The news of the arrival of the F-16s comes after Russia carried out one of the largest drone strikes against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, according to The Telegraph.
