The famous Super Bowl halftime show is considered one of the largest stages in the music world. This year it belongs to Usher. The US musician promises a show full of creativity – and with roller skates.

A few days before his performance at halftime of the Super Bowl, the US musician Usher (45) promised a show full of creativity and with roller skates. “I wanted to put on a show that showcased my creativity,” the musician said at a press conference in Las Vegas, where he appeared dressed in a black leather coat, black gloves and black sunglasses.

In the past three years, Usher had given a total of 100 concerts in Las Vegas, and the appearance at the Super Bowl was now the “perfect end point” for this series of performances, the musician said. “Anyone who heard about my show in Vegas will see what it was like and get the best of it.” This included roller skates – both at the concerts that have already been played and now also at the Super Bowl. “Roller skating in front of 60,000 people will bring out the best in me.” He wants to “be great” and “set standards.”

In 2011, the R&B musician, with hits like “Nice & Slow”, “You Make Me Wanna…”, “U Got It Bad” and “Yeah!” became world famous, having already performed together with the Black Eyed Peas at the football spectacle. At halftime of the 58th edition of the NFL finals, this time between defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the 45-year-old is now scheduled to perform the halftime show alone on Sunday (Monday night CET) – although Usher announced his support Guest musicians.

“I had a lot of ideas about who I wanted to share this moment with, and I think these people deserve just as much credit.” However, Usher did not initially name any names.

This year, Reba McEntire will sing the national anthem before the start of the game. She is “very proud” of that, said the 68-year-old “Queen of Country” at the press conference. To prepare, she sings the anthem all the time – “even in the shower.”

Musician Post Malone, who is scheduled to sing “America the Beautiful” at the football spectacle, said he was “very nervous” but was also very excited about his performance. “It’s epic that I get to go out there and sing. So many great artists have been able to do that before me,” said the 28-year-old. However, his relationship with the venue Las Vegas is not an easy one. “I love Vegas. But Vegas doesn’t love me. The casinos can tell you about it.”
