In this situation, Ibrahim Almadi, who went to Saudi Arabia to meet his relatives, was arrested by the country’s police last November.

The Washington Post reported that he was arrested in connection with his Twitter posts against the Saudi government while he was in the United States, tortured in prison and sentenced to 16 years in prison by the court this month.

This has now been confirmed by Almadi’s son Ibrahim and US State Department officials.
