Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi canceled an interview with an American journalist after she refused to wear a hijab during the interview.

UN International journalist Christian Amanpour was to interview Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who had come to the United States to attend the General Assembly meeting. It had been planned for weeks and the interview was scheduled for Wednesday night. It was reported that this was Ibrahim Raisi’s first interview in America. In this situation, the president of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, has canceled his interview, and the reason for this is that Christian Amanpour, the interviewer, refused to wear a hijab.

In a post published on Twitter, Christian said that there is no law or custom to wear hijab in New York, and no previous Iranian president has ever forced them to wear hijab when they were interviewed outside of Iran.

In Iran, the government imposes strict dress codes, requiring girls to wear the hijab at all times, and girls over the age of 7 must wear a full-covering hijab. Because of this, Iranian women and social activists are protesting against President Ibrahim Raisi. In the midst of this, the police arrested a 22-year-old girl named Mahsa Amini for not wearing a proper hijab in Iran and assaulted her. The young woman who went into a coma died tragically. Many women protested against this incident. So far 31 people have died in this protest.
