American sprinter Randolph Ross, Olympic champion in the 4x400m relay in 2021, has been suspended for three years for failing to comply with his whereabouts obligations and “tampering” with an element during the procedure, the Integrity Unit of the State announced on Tuesday. athletics (AIU).

In this procedure, Ross (21) had been provisionally suspended and excluded from the World Championships in Eugene (Oregon) in July, the day before his entry into the running in the 400m.

The IAU blames the American for three breaches of his doping whereabouts obligations in less than a year. To avoid the third fatal breach, Ross admitted to having falsified an email supposed to clear him in early July, a practice discovered by the IAU which increases his sanction, fixed until June 30, 2025. The sprinter was part of the American team of the 4×400 m relay gold medalist in Tokyo where he had participated in the heats only.
