The American corporation Apple paid several million dollars in compensation to an American woman whose candid photographs of technology were leaked to the Internet. Reported by The Telegraph.
In January 2016, a woman returned the phone to Apple-approved Pegatron support in California for repair, but the technicians who repaired the device posted intimate photos of the owner online. This was done as if on her behalf in her own social networks. The American sued Apple, as a result of which the parties reached an agreement, but then it was not known that the defendant was Apple. This case became known only recently, when in another case Apple was named the defendant in both cases.
The company confirmed that such an incident took place and said it has since changed the protocols to prevent technicians from doing the same when repairing the phone.
