jpnn.comJAKARTA – Post-metal band from Jakarta, Amerta presents its latest single entitled Hejira.
The song, produced by Ricky Siahaan, Seringai’s guitarist, is the first offering from Amerta’s newest formation.
Through this latest formation, Amerta explored further in the creative process when working on Hejira.
Because, the song was the first work that was truly created collectively by the five personnel.
“We did workshops and brainstorming many times. This song is very fun to play, especially the bass playing flow. Like several other Amerta songs, the structure of ‘Hejira’ is unpredictable and has elements of various inspiring genres. From post-metal, post-hardcore, to post-punk,” said Amerta bass player, Anida Bajumi, Wednesday (24/7).
“We try to put our focus on making cohesive music,” added synthesizer player Lody Andrian.
Amerta considers vocals as an instrument, not just a means to convey meaning.
When recording Hejira’s vocals, the personnel had to leave out the chorus section because it turned out that the lyrics that were written at that time had not found the pronunciation that they felt was right.
