Ami Paztal (Moshe Hermon)
Ami Faztal passed away at the age of 87. Faztal, born on January 1, 1936, legend of Samson Tel Aviv, was a legendary Israeli sports broadcaster who for many years presented the legendary radio show “Shirim Vash’er” on Channel B and his soundtrack accompanied millions of Israeli football fans over the years .
He was the first to submit the unforgettable program for sports fans in Israel. Paztal was the one who founded the youth department of the Shimshon Tel Aviv football club and won the championship and the state cup with it. In 1966, he was called to coach the senior team and came with it to the semifinals and finals of the State Cup.
For decades he was the chairman of Shimshon Tel Aviv, built and managed with a limited budget a team that reached a respectable place at the top of the top league table and attracted a large crowd to Bloomfield Stadium. During his long career that revolved around Israeli football, he even served as a judge at the Football Association’s tribunal.
Paztal is the youngest of two sons of the Postol family. During one of the trips with the Israeli soccer team, you changed his name from Postol to Peztal for the radio. Paztal’s life path moved between three focal points: law, radio and football, when during his career he even served as a legal advisor for the Tel Aviv municipality. Of blessed memory.
