Oliver Pocher repeatedly publicly pokes fun at his still-wife Amira. Now the presenter has struck back.
Oliver and Amira Pocher have been officially separated for a year now – but the ex-couple have not yet found peace. The entertainer in particular never misses an opportunity to criticize the influencer. The comedian recently taunted his ex, telling her to finally drop his last name. As a result, many users accused her in hate messages of wanting to keep the name for financial reasons, because it was the basis of her success. The 31-year-old is now speaking out about this.
In the podcast she shared with her brother Hima Aly, Amira Pocher had some critical words for her ex-partner. “I don’t know if you can’t find another topic, if you don’t have enough content for another podcast, but it’s so tedious and exhausting that something is discussed every week and the same topic is brought up again and again,” she said angrily.
The 46-year-old’s fans are also putting pressure on her and asking her to take her maiden name again. “Guys, I’m not even divorced yet. The normal process is a year of separation, then comes the divorce. […] and after that the right and logical step would be to say, OK, do I drop the name or not?” Amira Pocher responded.
She cannot understand at all why Oliver Pocher keeps bringing up the potential name change. Because: “He knows best. He knows exactly what the plan is. I am starting to believe that it is already planned so that it is said again and again and demanded in public so that when it happens, he can say, yes, you see, if I say something, then that is how it will be done.” For the 31-year-old, there are simply more important things at the moment, and first she wants to get the divorce behind her, says Amira Pocher.
However, she did not want to be put under pressure when it came to the name change – but also stressed that she could not please everyone anyway. “If I then give up the name and continue to be successful as Amira Aly, people will still say, well, it’s all on Olli’s neck.” Amira Pocher made it clear: “I’m the last person to say that Olli had nothing to do with it. Quite the opposite. I’m always the one who says that of course this attention, this mega-presence through Olli led to this. No question about it.” But she also threw out the door: “The reach was given to me, the presence, the attention, yes. But you have to deliver something that makes people stay and like you.”
Oliver Pocher also benefited from her. When she met him, he wasn’t as successful as he is today. Back then, they had the hype together, as a couple. “We were interesting together everywhere, more interesting together than individually. The feeling is mutual,” says Amira Pocher.
She then took a swipe at Sandy Meyer-Wölden – Oliver Pocher’s first wife, who took over Amira Pocher’s place in the joint podcast after their separation. “Let’s take a look at his environment. Who is profiting from Olli right now? Who is profiting from Olli? Who? Me?” said the influencer, adding: “I do my thing, I look after myself, I do my jobs, I accept requests or not, I do my things. But who is profiting from him? And nothing is ever said.”
