Pune: Union Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that the Centre has no plans to import milk powder. He also accused the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra of spreading misinformation. Shah said at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Maharashtra Adhiveshan in Pune that an old, undated notification is in discussion and the MVA has cited it to claim that the government is planning to import milk powder. In fact, Amit Shah also holds the charge of Home and Cooperation Ministry. Not even a gram of milk powder is imported
Amit Shah said that I also got confused and I called Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. He told me that this was not our decision but Sharad Pawar’s. Don’t be confused, this circular was issued by him only. He said that there is no such plan. Shah said that not even a kilo of milk powder was imported in the last ten years. Not even a gram of milk powder will be imported in the next five years. These people want to fabricate fake discussions to win the elections.

Sharp attack on Sharad Pawar
In his address, Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Pawar and termed him the kingpin of corruption in the country. Shah accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of displaying arrogance despite defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He termed Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh) president Uddhav Thackeray as the head of the ‘Aurangzeb Fan Club’ and said that he is sitting with people seeking clemency for 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.

What is Aurangzeb Fan Club?In Pune, the senior BJP leader said Sharad Pawar had institutionalised corruption. Taking a dig at the Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh) chief, Shah said Uddhav Thackeray was sitting with those who had sought clemency for 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon. “What is the Aurangzeb fan club? Those who feed biryani to (26/11 terror attack convict) Kasab, those who seek clemency for Yakub Memon, those who give peace ambassador award to (controversial Islamic preacher) Zakir Naik and those who support (banned Islamic organisation) PFI. Uddhav Thackeray should be ashamed of sitting with these people,” he said.
