This Thursday, when asked if he could publish the constitutional change that would modify the composition of the Judiciary during the remainder of his administration, the outgoing president said that everything will depend on Congress, which will have a Morena “super majority,” to which he recommended:
“They have to be very careful with the procedure (…) so that the ministers do not nullify them, they have to take care of everything (…) they should bring notaries, call all the notaries, ‘step 1, notarial act’ they should take care of it, because imagine, it seems like a rule but it is not, they are capable of many things”.

This recommendation is due to the fact that, according to the outgoing president, what happened in January of this year could happen with this project, when the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) declared the Electricity Law enacted in 2021 unconstitutional.

López Obrador’s recommendation to the “super majority” that will begin activities on September 1 also responds to yesterday’s statements by the current coordinator of the Morena deputies, Ricardo Monrealwho said:
“This is the first reform – the judicial reform – that we will have to discuss, deliberate on and, if necessary, approve in the first week of September.”
In an interview with the media, the current senator said that the discussion of the project in the Plenary session of San Lázaro It could take 2 days, and in this case between September 4 and 5.
