The President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He assured that he did not interfere in the last elections of June 2, despite having a pile of more than twenty sanctions for electoral interference.

This Sunday during his ninth tour with the virtual president-electClaudia Sheinbaum, Lopez Obrador commented from the House of Crafts in Tepic, Nayaritwho on more than one occasion “reserved his words about the opposition” during his Morning shows.

“When I was campaigning I had to keep my words to myself out of respect for the electoral process, but I was very bothered by the hypocrisyamong other things from our adversaries in the conservative bloc. Because to look good they said: ‘The welfare programs will continue, I’ll sign it with my blood.’

He even boasted that despite the above, the village of Mexico is so politicized that they avoided the “tragedy” that the coalition formed by the PAN, PRI y PRD.

“Imagine if the people had not decided as they did, wisely, Claudia Sheinbaum. Imagine what a tragedy! Because it was going to be a brake on the process of transformation that has barely begun in our country, after 36 years of dominance of an anti-popular, submissive policy.”

At the same time, he took the opportunity to emphasize that the opposition has never been in favor of the social programs that his administration has promoted and that will be maintained during the government of his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum.

It should be noted that despite the president’s statements that he did not intervene in the election, prior to the start of the process (November 20) he was denounced by the opposition (PAN, PRI and PRD) on at least 19 occasions for allegedly violating the principles of equity and neutrality of the contest, dissemination of electoral propaganda during a prohibited period (electoral ban), issuing statements that constituted political violence based on gender, as well as misuse of public resources.

In light of this, on June 27, the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation determined that the outgoing president did violate the impartiality of the process. /Luis Valdés
