On the 9th anniversary of the Ayotzinapa Case, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that a “thorough” and “serious” investigation is being carried out, and that “we are moving forward,” after the meeting he held this Monday with fathers and mothers of the Ayotzinapa Case. 43 normal students missing.
In his morning conference this Tuesday, September 26, President López Obrador responded to the lawyer of the victims’ relatives, Vidulfo Rosales, after saying that Undersecretary Alejandro Encinas made a narrative that is closer “to the historical truth” of the past administration, than to new events.
“I think he exaggerated or was confused because we have principles, we have ideals and we speak the truth,” said the President about Rosales.

President López Obrador accused that the parents of the students did not want to receive the report, and accepted “differences” because they insist that the Army is not cooperating.
“I do not agree with them because the Army has provided all the information they have and has helped a lot,” declared President López Obrador.
He pointed out that in the last six-year term “the mistake was made of hiding the truth and disappearing evidence,” in addition that a “pact of silence” was imposed: “So we are facing all of that and we have made a lot of progress.”
“They did not want to receive the report yesterday,” he indicated, mentioning that he asked the Secretary of Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, for a detailed report.
I am interested in the relatives knowing all the documents because I do not have much trust in the intermediaries, he added.
“He makes a narrative, stating that the students were infiltrated, that it was a dispute between the sides of organized crime, totally reducing the responsibility to organized crime and to a merely local aspect, leaving out the Army, the only one that is assigned to it.” Responsibility lies with Captain Martínez Crespo. Outside of that, no more responsible military appears, nothing is said about those who built, for example, the historical truth, those circumstances do not appear,” declared Vidulfo Rosales.
