This training program, held from July 24 to 28, was designed to meet the specificities of the Moroccan capital market with the aim of supporting the establishment of the financial instruments futures market in Morocco, the AMMC said in a press release.
The themes addressed during this program mainly focused on the fundamental aspects of derivatives markets, such as the legal framework and the regulatory dimension, regulation and protection of investors, supervision and monitoring of the market, management and control of risks emanating from derivatives, as well as the mechanisms for designing contracts and clearing transactions, continues the same source.
The training was provided by Kevin Piccoli, Deputy Director of International Affairs and Head of Technical Assistance at the CFTC, who provided his expertise and shared his practical and technical knowledge in the field.
Interactive, this training program was also a space for fruitful exchanges between participants and helped improve understanding of how derivatives markets work.
As part of the collaboration between the AMMC and the CFTC, other actions aimed at preparing the launch of the futures market in Morocco will be organized for the benefit of all stakeholders in the capital market ecosystem.
