Jalandhar: In Jalandhar, Punjab, police have arrested Harpreet Singh, brother of Shri Khadoor Sahib MP and Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, with drugs. The arrest of Harpreet Singh has been confirmed by SSP Ankur Gupta of Jalandhar Rural Police. Amritpal Singh’s brother Harpreet has been arrested with heroin. He was intoxicated even when he was arrested. Police have arrested him with 4 grams of heroin. Police have also arrested one of his associates. Amritpal’s brother Harpreet Singh’s dope test has also come positive. Police is investigating as to where he got the recovered drugs from. Police has got Harpreet’s medical done which has confirmed intoxication. A case has been registered against him and he has also been arrested.

Amritpal came out of jail to take oath

Let us tell you that jailed pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh was given four days parole to take oath as MP. Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De, won the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat in the recently concluded general elections by a margin of about 1.97 lakh votes. While he was lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the National Security Act (NSA). His election campaign was run by his family members and representatives of different Panthic organizations.

Amritpal Singh had started the anti-drug campaign

Amritpal was born in Jallupur Kheda village in Amritsar. At the age of 19, he went to Dubai to join his uncle’s business. After returning to Punjab in August 2022, he took Amrit at Anandpur Sahib to formally become an Amritdhari Sikh. He abandoned western clothes and started wearing a turban and chola like Bhindranwale. He also started raising the issue of Khalistan. After returning to Punjab, he started a de-addiction campaign and soon became popular among the youth. He also raised issues like desecration of Guru Sahib, water issues and Bandi Singhs (Sikh prisoners) which attracted people to him.
