A disaster has blocked traffic in the central part of Shumen, around the church next to Crystal Square, the spokesperson of the Regional Directorate (OD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Asya Yordanova, announced.
After the road accident, the traffic on “Kliment Ohridski” street in the city is difficult, she noted and called on the drivers to drive with caution in the road section.
According to initial data, drivers driving Renault and Toyota cars collided. Police, fire and emergency teams are on the scene. There are currently no serious injuries. A passenger from one vehicle complained of chest pains. The two drivers have legal capacity. They were tested for driving after consuming alcohol, their samples were negative, specified Yordanova, quoted by BTA.
According to her, at the moment, the traffic on “Kliment Ohridski” street is regularly allowed, but there are difficulties in the traffic on the section from “Panayot Volov” streets to “Tsar Ivan Alexander” in the city.
Compared to 2022, the traffic situation in the district has worsened and serious accidents are 28 more, reported on January 30 from the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Shumen in a report on its activities in 2023.
