An amazing comeback for Steve Austin at WrestleMania

WWE fans, WrestleMania back. As every year, the biggest event of the wrestling organization took place, which, like previous years, will be divided into two nights. On the first night, 77,899 viewers at AT&T in Texas got a real show, including a sensational Stone Cold Steve Austin comeback to the arena after 19 years. And yes, he of course won.

In the first fight which was also the shortest in the evening (6:55 minutes), SmackDown doubles champions Jimmy and Jay Oso defeated Shinska Nakamura and Rick Boggs. One of the highlights of the evening came already in the second battle, when Drew McIntyre defeated Baron Corbin and after pinning him cut the arena with his sword. He is not just called the “Scottish psychopath”.

As in almost every WrestleMania we also got a celebrity guest appearance, with YouTuber Logan Paul collaborating with ‘The Miz’ in a battle against the legendary Ray Mysterio and his son. Paul impressed and mimicked a number of moves by the late Eddie Guerrero, who was a close friend of Ray, in order to mock him during the fight. After cheating throughout almost the entire fight, Miz managed to win the tie, but in the end chose to “betray” the stunned Paul and lower him to the mattress with the “Skull Crushing Finale”.

The next fight was over the Raw Women’s Championship between Becky Lynch and Bianca Blair. Champion Lynch returned to the company at the last SummerSlam event and pinned Blair in just 26 seconds to take the title from her. Since then she has not stopped mocking Blair, who in the pre-WrestleMania show got half revenge when she cut Lynch’s hair, and among herself managed to take the championship belt from her after Lynch has not lost in an official battle since May 2019 (made a break of over a year following pregnancy) .

An exciting moment was recorded during the event, when the day before WrestleMania an Undertaker was officially added to the WWE Hall of Fame along with other past stars and at the event itself he came to receive more respect from the audience. The spectators who arrived may have received the famous gong for the last time when the Undertaker entered and thanked them for long minutes. The day before, at the Hall of Fame ring ceremony, Undertaker had declared, “Never say never,” hinting that he might appear again in the future, but doubtless at WrestleMania.

Back to battles, it’s impossible without Seth (freaking) Rollins. After not finding an opponent for WrestleMania and trying his best to get into the fights of others, just before the event he went to the office of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who told him he was ready to compete, but only knew about his opponent when he got to the ring. At the end appeared none other than Cody Rhodes, who left the company about six years ago but was warmly received by the crowd and at the end of a formidable battle of close to 22 minutes pinned Rollins, one of the company’s biggest stars today.

The women’s main event came right after. Champion Charlotte Flair, the daughter of the legendary Rick Flair, fought Bronda Rawsey, the former UFC champion. The two hinted that they would try to subdue the opponent, but eventually the twist came when Ronda accidentally pushed Flair over the referee, who fell to the floor. Rawzi easily subdued Flair, but the champion knew the referee did not see and the shocked Rawzi hurried to set him up. Charlotte took advantage of this to kick Rhonda’s head and pin her. This does not seem to be the end of the confrontation between the two.

And now – for the moment that everyone has been waiting for. Kevin Evans has not stopped teasing last month at the legendary 57-year-old Stone Cold Steve Austin who has not competed with the company since 2003. At first there was talk of inviting him to a hosting show, but very quickly Evans offered Austin a fight without rules. The latter could not refuse in front of the enthusiastic crowd that wanted to see him perform in the arena. Austin looked not bad, did not stop drinking beer throughout the fight and made some nice moves, and in the end the famous ‘Stunner’ on the way to an amazing victory in a snap over one of the best wrestlers in the organization today. And this is only the first night …
