  • Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) currently owns 100% of the shares of the Parisian club

An American investment fund wants to get part of the shares of the PSG.

As reported by ‘L’Équipe’, the company Bears Sports Partners (ASP) is one of those interested in buying between 5% and 15% of the Parisian club, with a value of 4,000 million euros.

The North American investment fund would have sent representatives to the meeting between PSG and Lorient on April 30. The defeat of PSG would not have influenced the intention to purchase part of the capital of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) by Arctos Sports Partners.

This US fund currently has nearly $7 billion in assets, 69% more than a year ago. Among those billions of dollars are shares of Fenway Sports Groupowner of Liverpool. It also owns part of the franchises of the Devils (NHL), go 76ers (NBA) and the Utah Royals (NWSL).

QSI took over the entire Parisian club in 2011. Qatar bought 70% of PSG in June and exercised the purchase of the remaining 30% a few months later.

However, Nasser al-Khelaifi already advanced in the Qatar World Cup that they were open to making way for new minority investors in the club to strengthen the entity. Following the information from ‘L’Équipe’, it seems that QSI already has different candidates interested in Nasser al Khelaifi’s proposal.
