Earthworks and embankment construction will begin next week. Currently, the current driving speed of 70 km/h remains on the section, but it may be reduced to 50 km/h in the course of construction works.

The new construction will reduce the noise that reaches the residents of Vangaži from the Vidzeme highway (A2). The project is implemented in accordance with the Action Plan for noise reduction on national highways and the solutions provided therein. In the 1055-meter long section, a combined system of noise walls will be built on reinforced concrete block foundations, the wall height will be 3-5.5 meters.

According to the requirements, noise walls must be such that they provide sound absorption class A3 (8-11dB(A)) or higher and sound insulation class B3 (>24dB(A)).

The construction works are carried out by SIA “Tilts” for the contract price of 1,701,970.13 euros (without VAT), the project was developed by SIA “Projekts EAE”. Construction supervision is performed by AS “Ceļuprojekts”. The contract stipulates that construction works will last until the end of June.
