According to the family, the architect named Jose Gutierrez, his wife, her sister and her cousin went out to a restaurant late in the evening and were supposed to return to the family home. Hours after they were supposed to return if the family received an alert that their vehicle was about 30 kilometers away from the area where they were supposed to be.

After the report to the police, the vehicle was indeed found abandoned in one of the neighborhoods and there is no trace of the four missing persons.
