Two criminal cases were opened against a company of natives of Dagestan, who beat a young man in the Moscow metro, about attempted murder and the use of violence against a government official. This was announced by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Svetlana Petrenko. The attackers could face more than 11 years in prison. The head of the ICR, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered the re-qualification of the case from hooliganism to a more serious article. Also, the head of the TFR decided to award the victim with the departmental medal “Valor and Courage”.

Mrs. Petrenko explained that when “the victim was on the floor in his own blood, one of the attackers continued to kick him on the head”. The investigation interprets such actions as attempted murder.

The incident took place the day before and caused a wide response. The witness said that the beating took place on the stretch between the Izmailovskaya and Pervomayskaya stations. According to her, a company of drunken aggressive men burst into the carriage and began to molest passengers, in particular girls. The young man made a remark to the aggressive company, after which she pounced on him.

A video was also posted showing how three men kicked a bloody guy. A RIA Novosti source reported that the attackers were previously convicted natives of Dagestan.
