Dr. Yasser Abdel-Hadi, professor of astronomy at the Egyptian Astronomical Research Institute, explained the phenomenon of the approach of the comet “Pan Stars” to planet Earth, which is expected to happen this month.

Abdel Hadi told “Cairo 24”, that “the comet of Pan Stars” will be at the closest point to Earth on July 14, noting that “the moon will be a full moon in the sky… Badr Dhul-Hijjah… and this will make it difficult to see it.”

He pointed out that “the comet was first seen in 2017 through the Pan Stars telescope in Hawaii, when it was between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus.”

He continued: “The comet is now moving towards the inner part of the solar system and will be at the closest distance from Earth on July 14, 2022, and after several months it will pass near the sun, specifically on December 19, 2022.”
