By announcing on Wednesday November 15 the launch in 2026 of an electric Twingo for less than €20,000 excluding subsidies, Renault succeeded in its success. He made the capital market day (investor day) presentation of Ampere, the subsidiary which brings together its activities in electric cars and software, a media event. “It’s a vehicle that has the potential to be a game-changer,” underlined Luca de Meo, the general director of Renault and CEO of Ampere.
In just over two years, the Twingo will complete a range which will then include four models. To the electric Megane E-Tech, launched in spring 2022, will be added, at the start of next year, the Scenic E-Tech, then the highly anticipated Renault 5 (third quarter 2024) and Renault 4 (first quarter 2025) , built on the group’s new 100% electric platform. With the Twingo and the Renault 4 and 5, the group is banking on the image of its past successes to build an electric future.
