The Vittiers live in a 14-story building called the Begich Tower, formerly the Armed Forces Barracks. The city grew during World War II. Originally a military base, it was later inhabited by people. The densely populated city began to change with the 1964 earthquake. The site was devastated by the earthquake. With this, people started leaving the city and migrating to other cities. The history of the city is that the inhabitants of this financially ruined town, with only a few remaining, moved to the Begich Tower to live on less.
Today there are a total of 300 families in the town. Eighty-five percent of them live under one roof. Take a look around and just look around for anything.
