An escapee from Badush prison who was impersonating a security prison was arrested in Baghdad

Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Security Media Cell announced, on Tuesday, the arrest of a fugitive from Badush prison who was impersonating a security officer in the capital, Baghdad.

The cell stated in a statement, “The intelligence agency’s detachments specialized in combating terrorism, according to accurate intelligence information, included the intention of one of the accused who fled in accordance with the provisions of Article (405) and those who escaped from Badush prison, to visit one of the passport departments in the capital, Baghdad, and after checking the information received, the wanted person of the aforementioned accused and the validity of the information were indicated.” Above, after a precise ambush by our detachments, the accused was arrested and a fake identity belonging to a security agency was found in his possession.”

She added, “During his initial investigation, the accused frankly admitted that he had escaped from Badush prison after being convicted in accordance with the provisions of Article (405) of the Penal Code, and that he had forged an identity belonging to a security apparatus and assumed the identity of one of its officers.”

She continued, “The accused’s statements were recorded and he was referred to the relevant authorities to appear before the judiciary to receive his just punishment.”
