Jeddah: A Tamil Nadu man was found dead in Najran, Saudi Arabia, on his way home. Murukesh, a native of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, was found hanged. He has been working in Najran for the last 25 years.
He was due to return home after 12 years. It has been four years since the visa expired. Friends approached Sheikh Meeran, a social activist and in-charge of the Indian Social Forum Najran Welfare, to send him back home. He met the authorities several times and corrected the documents required for Murukesh’s journey.
Murukesh, who had booked a flight home, was found hanging in a room the day before leaving. The body was then buried in Najran itself through the intervention of social forum activists. Wife: Ilavarasi, children: Smt. Roopasree.
