Two serious incidents occurred in Petah Tikva in the last two days. This evening, an explosion was heard near a building on Balfour Street in the city, and there was also shooting. The police, who were called to the scene following a report of an explosion, located near the building an IED and shooting pods. In the early morning, shots were fired at a building on Ben Gurion Street in Kfar Ganim. The police are investigating both incidents, it is believed that the background is criminal. The police informed that the police saboteur transferred the item for further examination and extraction of evidence in the forensic laboratories. It was also reported that the officers of Petah Tikva station opened an investigation this evening, upon receiving a report at Moked 100 about the sound of an explosion heard in the city, when at the end of the scans, the officers located the remains of an explosive device at the site and gunshot pouches.
It was also reported that the police saboteur examined the remains of the item, along with scanning the site to remove any additional risk to the public, and at the end of the activity forwarded the findings to continue extracting evidence at the forensics laboratories of the Israel Police, as part of an investigation opened to examine the background and circumstances.
