The activity according to the data of the General Authority of the Port of Alexandria registered a significant increase during the month of March 2023, compared to the previous month. The number of ships that visited the port during the last month reached 404 compared to February 2023 – an increase of 42.2% with an increase of 120 ships.
The Authority’s statement published yesterday stated that the largest increase in the number of ships with bulk cargo was recorded during the month of March, compared to February (91%), followed by ferries by 83.2%, and then general cargo ships by 41.3%.
Also, the authority reported a significant increase of about 38% in container ships during the month of March, after 153 container ships visited the ports of Alexandria and Dakhila, compared to 111 ships in February. Bulk carriers (dry bulk) recorded an increase of 29% during the month of March 2023, compared to the previous month.
