Jeddah: A young man from Saudi Arabia paid one million riyals to free an Indian citizen who was serving a prison sentence in a car accident case in which four Saudi citizens lost their lives. He released the Indian driver from jail by paying a large amount of blood money.
Fifty-eight-year-old Avadesh Sagar was released from jail. He is a native of Jaunpur, UP. He was serving a jail term in a car accident case. He sees the outside world after three years. Avadesh said after coming out of jail that he thanked God and everyone who helped him in his release.
A video of Awadesh thanking him was shared on social media. A young Saudi named Hadi Hamoud Khaitani worked for his release. Awadesh’s video with him is now circulating. Avadesh says in the video that he is thankful to all those who helped him to be freed.

Avdesh’s vehicle met with an accident on March 13, 2020. Avdesh Kumar was driving a 1976 model tanker lorry. 4 Saudi nationals died after a tanker lorry collided with a car. Three women and a differently-abled person were killed.
Awadesh did not have motor insurance cover. His sponsor was not spared either. Awadesh was then transferred to Al Quwaiya Village Jail on Taif Road in Riyadh.
Then the court ordered to pay 945,0000 riyals (about 2 crore rupees) as dia or blood money.

But Awadesh did not have the capacity to pay that much. He decided to suffer the punishment himself.
Later, Hadi Hamoud Khaitani, who came to know about the case, came to the scene to free Awadesh. Hadi’s goal was to free him and bring him safely to India.
Then Hadi got permission from some Saudi officials to collect the money. Within 10 days of getting the approval, the money required for the case was received. It was through this that Awadesh was freed.
